Things to see in Lanzarote: Playa Blanca
Marina Rubicon
The Marina Rubicon is only 500 m from Villa luce is a stylish street market atmosphere against the backdrop of the swanky yacht marina. A lot of nice bars, restaurants, supermarkets and boutiques with many expensive yachts on the background.
Our favorite restaurants in the Marina are El Mirador, La casa Roja and the Blue Note.
Las Coloradas
The promenade (Paseo Maritimo) extends from Hotel El Mirador near Papagayo beach in the East towards the Light house in the West; Las Colorades is the Eastern part.
Castillo del Águila
This small fortification was built between 1741 and 1744 to defend against pirate attacks. It offers beautiful views across the southern part of the island. Entry to the building is restricted so do check opening times before setting off (+ 34 928 81 17 62).
Hotel The Volcan
The entrance of the hotel is a spectacular replica of the church of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe in Teguise, with church music and candles, certainly worth a visit.
Also the Italian restaurant where you can eat outside next to the pool is very nice.
The centre
The centre is located in between the playa Dorada and the playa Flamingo. Many shops, supermarkets, pharmacies, medical offices are located there, with many restaurants on the Av Maritima along the waterside.
Museo Atlantico
Museo Atlantico is an underwater museum located in the bay of Las Coloradas. The museum consists of impressive sculptures of artist Jason de Caires Taylor, famous for his underwater art. It is approximately 12 metres underwater and is reached by scuba diving from the Dive College Lanzarote (www.underwatermuseumlanzarote.com).
Aqualava Water Park
Aqualava Water Park lies in Playa Blanca, which stands out for its high-quality modern and sustainable facilities. The park is a true tribute to the unique spectacular scenery of our homeland – and to its main feature: volcanoes.
Kikoland
Kikoland at the Princesa Yaiza Suite Hotel Resort behind the playa Dorada is a children’s park with nice sports (tennis, paddle, basket ball, football) and leisure facilities.
The Pechiguera lighthouse
Firehouse located near the most Western corner of playa Blanca with nice ocean views.
Playa Papagayo
Playa de Papagayo is actually made up of a series of little beaches nestled between lava rocks. The sand is fine, the water crystal blue, and there is a small beach house restaurant if you are in need of refreshments. This is a great place to go walking or snorkelling. The natural park has seven beaches: Papagayo, Puerto Muelas, Caleta del Congrio, Playa de la Acera, Playa del Pozo, Playa Mujeres and Calentón de San Marcial, as well as a camping area and a chiringuito (beach bar) located on the beach of Papagayo.
Playa Dorada
Nice family beach near the center with a few bars and restaurants.
Playa Flamingo
Nice family beach near the center with a few bars and family restaurants.
